That remedy I heard of breaks the physical addiction, the receptors in the brain that become dependent on them. If the person still has the psychological issues that made them run to drugs in the first place, then yeah, they'll go back to it. But there are things that can be done to break physical addiction, otherwise nobody would be able to be clean and would stay addicts forever.
