You're just wrong mate. Amon Amarth is said to be viking by poeple that don't know what this genre is. Enslaved has some viking elements (listen to "Havenless") but most of their songs are just black or prog.Viking Metal is Bathory, Windir or even Falkenbach. At first the genre seems to be kinda stupid cause of course vikings dont have guitars but listening to viking bands should convince you that its a really defined genre with codes, just like thrash or black. and sorry for my crappy english.

i don't think that Enslaved make prog Black Metal or true vikingmetal. It's kind of avantgarde metal music like Ulver did it early before. Enslaved take parts from many genres and unite them to great music. the vocals are definately taken from black metal, but the kind the play the guitar and drumms is different. Listen to their newest album 'vertebrae'. No black metal, completely new elements. I like enslaved because they change their kind of music with almost every song or album.

Viking Metal is not a real metal genre, its only a lyrical clasification. If Viking Metal was a real Genre, also Aztec Metal, Espartan Metal, Pirate Metal, Samurai Metal, etc.., etc... will also be Genres.

I never joined to be a "ninja" so its apparent lack of traditional ninjutsu does not really bother me. Togakure ryu holds enough for me, and i find the principles of the other schools intresting. my biggest criticism of the bujinkan is a lack of a clearly defined syllabus which in turn leads to inconsistencies in grades worldwide. There is little in the way of set standards, and people generally rush to get 5th dan without a solid grounding in all the schools. rank without skill means nothing.

As I said, as far as I am aware, its only togakure ryu which is taught as ninjutsu within the buj, so it seems to me to be only one sixth of the training, and another reason why some people do not refer to themselves as ninjutsu schools, even though they are part of the bujinkan. I also found it od that Hatsumi is trained with kusari fondo, but does not teach it. something about not having menkyo kaiden?

whats the fourth school? was under the impression only 3 were ninjutsu schools - togakure ryu, gyokushin, and kumogakure? I was under the impression that togakure ryu was the only ninjutsu school taught in the buj (so one sixth ninjutsu in the art!) though i have also been informed that gyokku ryu and koto ryu form the basis of togakure ryu. I heard the reason the other 2 ninpo schools are not taught is that they deal with poisons (which are easily bought), meterology, espionage etc. notfor dojo

Thank you zombie It so turns out that my Japanese friend popped off to the Libary and got the book that 'registered' these schools. and low and behold the book says that these schools are prob not true and made up by Takamasu. I am just going to sort out all the info and make a you tube video. the more you look into this the less Bujinkan 'ninja' sections look credible. the list of people involed in the school looks like a who's who in ninjutsu, all copied from the bansenshukai!

Das mit nicht mögen, hat doch nichts damit zu tun ob man es besser kann. Jeder hat nun mal einen anderen Geschmack. Ihr findet sicher auch nicht alles toll, was auf Musiksendern läuft und da seid ihr auch nicht besser als die, oder? Ich finde ihre Stimme zwar schön, mag aber persönlich diese Musikrichtung und solche Texte nun mal nicht. Aber jedem das seine :)
